Dive in Korea

Korea has a core of very dedicated local divers who take every opportunity to dive the local reefs. A large amount of dive equipment is manufactured in Korea and the companies encourage weekend social dive outings among staff, usually on Sundays. Twenty to fifty divers all in matching dive equipment heading out to sea or wading off the shore is a sight to behold. Most coastal towns and all major cities have various dive stores, clubs, and boat operators to cater for visitor.

The east coast of South Korea faces the East Sea with easy coastal access, but few islands and sheltered bays. The southern and western coastline, facing the Korea Strait and the Yellow Sea or Huang Hai of China is much more sheltered with large convoluted bays and many offshore islands that offer myrad dive site choices.

Off the southern coast of Korea is the island of Jeju-Do that offers clear water and specialized dive services. The island is favourite with Korean divers, even tough it means a plane or boat trip and with overseas divers.
